Chad & Jeremy A Summer Song

Chad and Jeremy (a duo who flopped in the U.K. entered the charts with “A Summer Song” their second charting song following “Yesterday’s Gone”.  Chad contributed to the composition. The single would enjoy a 14 week run on the Billboard Charts peaking at number 7.  Visit the Chad & Jeremy website

Something New

This Beatle LP release actually entered the charts on August 8th, following “The Beatles Second Album” on the Capitol label.  This one enjoyed a 41 week run and topped off at number 2.

Oddballs

These two “Beatle Novelties were released around this time.  Larry Finnegan enjoyed earlier success with his only chart success “Dear One” which reached number 11, in 1962.  Larry passed away at the young age of 32 in 1973.  Read more about Larry at Black Cat Rockabilly.   Ed Soloman’s “The Beatle Flying Saucer” was a in vain attempt to cash in on the Invasion, probably coming too late to catch on.  Soloman never landed on any U.S. charts.
