Denver Broadcasting History

February 23, 2014

I came across this chronology on-line in an article by Tom Mulvey titled “Denver Radio: 80 Years of Change” relating to the history of Denver broadcasting.  The story begins in 1920 when Denver dentist Dr. William (Doc) Reynolds “founded 9ZAF at his 1124 S. University home in Denver.   The studio was on the front porch and the transmitter was in the back yard.” The story picks up there running through 2006! The detailed information here regarding radio personalities, support people, stations, dates and places is amazing to use today’s most over-used word.

The article also cites many inductees into the Colorado Broadcaster’s Hall of Fame (or click the graphic below) which I am adding to my site on my Colorado Local Top Page.
