“So Much in Love” on ABC Paramount Records was released in the Spring of 1966 – four years after Steve broke out on the Checker label with “Mashed Potatoes” (#81) and shortly after that “Every Day I Have to Cry” (#48).  He was a former member of The Unknowns.  Joel Whitburn cites Alaimo as the “having the most pop hits by any artist without a Top 40 hit”.  “So Much in Love” was written by Brill Building writers Carole King and Gerry Goffin.
