The Bluebird Theater

BLUEBIRD

The Blue Bird theater started off in 1914 in Denver, Colorado as the Thompson Theater becoming the Bluebird in 1922.  The movie house was located on Colfax Avenue in Denver’s Capitol Hill neighborhood.  Living on the west side of Denver, I didn’t venture often in my younger days to east Denver, but I vividly recall seeing Blue Hawaii at the Bluebird.

Later on, in the 1970’s, the theater began showing adult movies – many deemed “X Rated”.  My second cousin, Chris Swank acquired the Bluebird in 1994 and converted it to a Denver concert venue.  The facility continues on today in that vein.

Below are a few of the Bluebird concert posters I have located for display.  Visit the entire Bluebird Theater poster collection page.
