From the Land of Band Box Records

Band Box on the Nation’s Music Charts

Here is a listing of the Band Box releases that managed to find their way onto radio survey somewhere along the way.  Only Penny Starr and Van Trevor managed to crack the national charts – Trevor with two on the “Billboard Hot Country Singles” and Penny Starr with one – Both would go on to land several country hits on the nationals – Trevor with six more and Penny with 16 changing her name to Penny DeHaven.  Both artists are deceased.

Among those Band Box artists with local success – primarily on radio station KIMN – Ronny (often listed as “Ronnie”) Kae had the most success nearly reaching number 1 with “Drums Fell Off a Cliff” which was listed as a Band Box “B” side.
