Little Miss Dynamite

LEE WITH ELVIS

Brenda Mae Tarpley was and is the real deal.  A real rocking little girl she emerged out of Georgia with country leanings but possessed a voice that placed her firmly in the top spot of lady rockers during the 1960’s.  Discovered more or less by Red Foley, at the age of 9 she was quickly signed by Decca Records – Foley’s label.  Decca heads elected to promote her as a pop/rock artist and purposely didn’t promote her singles to country stations.

Brenda racked up so many achievements including the most charted female act ever – the fourth best charting act all-time behind Elvis, The Beatles and Ray Charles – over 100 million records sold
