Billboard Magazine ran mini-biographies from 1959 into the early 1960’s sometimes providing us with interesting tidbits – Each biography was generally tied to a current release on behalf of the artist

THE CORSAIRS (“SMOKEY PLACES”)

(PEAKED AT NUMBER 12 HOT 100 & NUMBER 10 R&B IN 1962 – RELEASED IN 1961)

The Corsairs formed in La Grange, Louisiana around 1960 – They placed one more single on the Hot 100 – They would later become “The Wooten Brothers” – Smokey Places was their third release – They would release another seven singles.
