Earthquake Moving Company

Formed in 1966, broke up in 1969.

  • Nic Leuthauser, guitar, harmonica, and vocals (died 2021)
  • Steve Moore, bass, electric piano, vocals
  • John Smyth, drums

Aside from Johnson, all four attended Arapahoe High School, where they played a few dances. They Performed at other gigs in the southern Denver area, and competed at a few battle of the bands.

They began as a 5-piece, then a quartet, and finally a power trio. Did mostly cover versions, but their set list included one original by Moore, who later went on to become a prominent literary critic.
