THE ELECTRIC PRUNES
Yes Colorado does have a link to this nationally charting group (“I Had to Much Too Dream Last Night” – 1966 #11 and “Get Me to The World On Time” – 1966 #27) – all joining as a 1968 revamped Prunes lineup – which also included the addition of Colorado guitar player Ron Morgan. All but Morgan came recommended to the Electric Prunes by former Astronaut Rich Fifield who was heading up the band Hardwater. The three (minus Morgan) were performing in a Colorado band called Climax. Richard Whetstone had previously managed a Denver band from George Washington High School “The Ramblin Blues”.

F.A.B. COMPANY
The F.A.B. Company was comprised of Frank Bruen, Ralph Achilles and Bonnie Ellison. They formed in the late 1960’s. Achilles and Frank also performed as a duo. The group was later joined by Jerry Jacobs. I had earlier erroneously reported that country singer Bonnie Nelson was with this group. This in on February 18th, 2016 from Lawrence Kay (“DJ Joe Sixpack”):
FAB Co February 1971
“I did want to offer one correction, though: country singer Bonnie Nelson was *not* part of the band F.A.B. Company, as previously reported in the North Of Pueblo site. The FAB singer is Bonnie ELLISON, who was also a Colorado native, and who went to the same high school as Bonnie Nelson, but is not the same person. Bonnie Ellison — who I recently e-mailed to ask about this confusion, and who confirms they were two different people — stopped touring with FAB in 1973 because she had Multiple Sclerosis, while Bonnie Nelson moved to Nashville to pursue a country music career.”

DAVID FERRETA & THE SUNDAY RIVER BLUEGRASS BOYS
The late David Ferreta was a folk musician and associate of the “Swallow Hill Musics Organization”. He migrated to Denver in the 1970’s and opened the folk venue, “The Global Village”. He performed in a 1979 Swallow Hill benefit with many local folk musicians.
“From the “Hanaleip” web site: “David Ferretta was a Denver Music Icon, first working with Harry Tuft at the Denver Folklore Center and later opening his own vintage music store, Ferretta Music Service on south Broadway in Denver. David also owned “The Global Village” a coffee house in Denver that presented live Bluegrass music. David joined with EP Davis, Clarke Wright, Marc Conley and Bob Wire to form The Sunday River Bluegrass Show, recording an LP record album for Biscuit City Records in Denver tilted “You Can Dress Them Up, But You Can’t Take ‘Em Out”.
Sunday River performed at the earliest Bluegrass festivals in Colorado, and was a featured opening act for Colorado bands, Michael Martin Murphy, The Nitty Gritty Dirt Band, Doug Kershaw, Chuck Pyle, Katy Moffit and many other Colorado artists and well as national acts like Bill Monroe, Lester Flatt, Jim and Jessie, Jimmy Martin, and Ralph Stanley. Sunday River traveled extensively and performed twice at the famed Red Rock Amphitheater for Barry Fay’s “Colorado Nights”. David passed away in 1996.”
